Engineer of the Year Award
2023 HCES ENGINEER OF THE YEAR AWARD
In conjunction with the activities of Engineers’ Week 2023, the Hawaii Society of Professional Engineers (HSPE) is soliciting nominations for the Hawaii Engineer of the Year Award. The selected engineer will receive their award at the 2023 Engineers’ Week Banquet in February 2023.
Nominations for the Engineer of the Year and Young Engineer of the Year candidates are being accepted. Nomination forms will be available on the HCES website at http://hceshawaii.org/ or by contacting Kurt Kunimune of HSPE. The awardees will be presented at the Engineer’s Week Banquet in February of 2023. Please contact Kurt Kunimune of HSPE at kkunimune@bowersandkubota.com for nomination forms or with any questions. Nominations will be due by Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Mahalo!
Each candidate shall be nominated on the following basis:
Candidate for Engineer of the Year (Nomination Form not to exceed 8 single-sided pages)
Shall be a current practicing Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Hawaii in good standing;
Shall be a current State of Hawaii resident; and
Shall not be a current State Officer or Director for HSPE.

30% Technical Accomplishment
(Technical Awards, Papers & Presentations, Major Projects, etc.)35% Professional History & Contributions
(Positions Held, Professional Affiliations, Special Contributions to Profession & Special Recognition, etc.)20% Civic & Community Contributions
(Affiliations, Position Held, Special Recognition, etc.)15% Recommendation(s)

No more than 3 letters of support per candidate with maximum 2 page limit per letter.
